Red Door Acupuncture Dr. Laura McGraw

Welcome to Red Door Acupuncture

Rooted in the Wisdom of Chinese Medicine

We honor the body’s natural ability to heal by providing compassionate, personalized care that supports harmony in mind, body, and spirit. We are dedicated to helping you rediscover well-being, so you can live fully and thrive.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years to restore balance and relieve suffering. Very fine needles are placed at specific points to guide the flow of Qi—our body’s vital energy—so that what is blocked can move, and what is weak can be supported.

From a biomedical perspective, acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system and activating the body’s regulatory mechanisms. Research shows acupuncture increases circulation, releases natural pain-relieving chemicals like endorphins, reduces inflammation, and helps regulate the autonomic nervous system. These effects explain why acupuncture can relieve pain, improve digestion, calm anxiety, and support overall balance.

Herbal Medicine

For millennia, Chinese herbal medicine has been used to clear illness, nourish the body, and support lasting wellness. Each formula I prescribe is tailored to your unique pattern, continuing the healing process between treatments.

Chinese herbal medicine extends the work of acupuncture beyond the treatment room. Over the years I’ve seen how formulas can both clear what obstructs and nourish what is lacking—supporting the body’s strength while easing symptoms. Pain, fatigue, digestive distress, or emotional imbalance often point to deeper patterns, and the herbs
are tailored to match those patterns precisely. By restoring circulation and replenishing what is depleted, herbal medicine steadies the foundation so healing can continue day by day.

Cupping / Gua Sha

Cupping and Gua Sha are therapeutic methods within Chinese medicine that help restore healthy circulation and reduce inflammation. Cupping applies gentle suction to draw blood flow into tight or stagnant areas, supporting tissue repair and relieving pain. Gua sha uses controlled strokes over the skin to mobilize circulation, decrease muscle tension, and assist the body in clearing heat and toxins. Both therapies are safe, effective, and often used to address musculoskeletal pain, respiratory issues, headaches, and stress-related conditions.
